So I started experimenting with a bunch of different gear combos and ultimately landed on the Mesa Subway 115 and D800. Web4 okt. 2024 · The Mesa is 2 ohm stable and has dual Speakon outputs which are really nice touches. Thing is, I was constantly fiddling with the Ampeg to get a good sound but the Mesa was good to go out of the box with everything set flat. In fact the best sound I ever got out of the Ampeg was with my Mesa Subway DI pedal going into it.

Southern California. Very cool idea as I have a Genzler MG-350 head. A D-800+ is on the top of my list when funds permit (preferred it tonally over the D-800). Web9 mrt. 2024 · D800+: Intrinsically somewhat dark with low-mid emphasis, mitigated with bright switch on, bass control below flat and contour at about 10 o'clock. Solid, punchy power section & cuts through a mix very well. I know you weren't asking specifically for a thumbs up or down, but for my purposes I prefer the D800+.

I’ve had the Prodigy and Strategy heads in the past along with the Walkabout Combo. Gain is low and will not really distort unless you drive it with pedals or preamp gain.
